The Enchanted Night

Music inspired by dusk, the night and dawn, through moonlight, Shakespeare, reflection and dreams.

Starting with Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s The Evening Star, we take in themes of moonlight, dreams, reflection, contemplation and prayer, leading up to James MacMillan’s O Radiant Dawn.

With music from the 16th century to the present day, the programme includes

Gustav Holst - A Dream Tryst

Josef Rheinberger - Abendlied
Arthur Sullivan - The Long Day Closes
Natalia Tsupryk - A Quiet Night
Thomas Weelkes - Hark, All Ye Lovely Saints
Ralph Vaughan Williams - Over Hill, Over Dale

The concert will end around 8.45pm, followed by drinks in the church hall.

Concessions £10, under-18s free
