Cappella Nova

image: Sue Cook
Cappella Nova is a chamber choir of around 25 experienced singers, committed to singing for pleasure and for the enjoyment of others. Founded in 2001, the choir sings a wide-ranging and eclectic mix of music, including both sacred and secular. Concerts are usually promoted to raise funds for charity and the choir sings in venues throughout Bath and North Wiltshire. The choir has a growing reputation for musical performances of a high quality.
Cappella Nova perform three or four concerts each year in various venues in the area. Most concerts have a theme, and may include poetry and other readings as well as music. Music we have performed recently can be seen on our Recent Concerts page.
Charity Concerts
Cappella Nova's concerts are often in support of a local charity: a church will invite us to do a concert to raise funds, and in doing so they provide a venue and an audience, and we provide the music.
In 2011 our concerts raised over £2400 for local and national charities. Charities supported include:
Quaker Peace Network West Africa
PAWS-GIST
The Organ Restoration Fund of St Michael's Church, Melksham
The Restoration Fund of St Alphege's Church, Bath
We are always interested in proposals for fund-raising concerts - please contact us to discuss this.
Wedding Music
Cappella Nova is available by arrangement to sing at weddings (church and civil ceremonies) and at other private functions. See the Music for Weddings page for details.
Cappella Nova is listed on British Choirs on the Net and Gerontius.
